Below are some questions that we have received regarding the Scarecrow Contest.  We will continue to add to this list as more questions are asked.

Where will the Scarecrows be setup?

All Scarecrows will be setup around Downtown Covington on the sidewalks in front of buildings.  They will not be setup on the Square proper because of the events that will be taking place on the Square throughout the month of October.

Who can enter the contest?

Anyone.  The contest is open to any person, family, school group, business, non-profit organization, etc. regardless of zip code.  It's not just for businesses.  You don't have to be a member of the Chamber of Commerce.  You don't have to own a business in Downtown Covington.  The contest is open open to everyone!

Can I enter the Scarecrow Contest just for fun and not be eligible for the prizes?

Sure!  That's perfectly fine if you want to have a Scarecrow out there just for fun and not be part of the competition.

Who votes on the winners?

Winners of the Scarecrow Contest will be voted on by the general public.  Several businesses around Downtown Covington will be designated as voting locations.  You can view the list here.  You visit one of those businesses and cast your ballot.

Can I vote online?

No.  You have to visit Downtown Covington and vote in person at one of the voting locations.
